Lap Tops

Where can you buy cheap gaming lap tops?

I don’t mind paying retail price. I don’t want the hassle to buy online I need a lap top that can run atleast Starcraft Wings of Liberty and Diablo 2 or supreme commander 2.

The problem here is the assumption that you *should* be able to find “cheap” gaming laptops. You don’t understand. If a laptop can play games well, it can do EVERYTHING else well. Thus, it should naturally cost more than a laptop that cannot play games well. A laptop that can play games well will have a higher end processor, a high end video chipset, a better quality hard drive, faster/more Ram, etc. As you reduce what you want the laptop to do, you can swap out this better hardware for lower quality or slower versions.

So, your options are…
1. Raise your budget.
2. Search eBay or Craigslist for a used laptop that meets the minimum system requirements of the games you want to play.
3. Find the cheapest new laptop that meets the minimum system requirements of the games you want to play.

Now Diablo 2 is an 11 year old game, released in 2000… so no problem meeting the system requirements there. StarCraft II is different….
* 2.6 GHz processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM for XP, 1.5 GB for Vista and 7;
* 2 GB RAM for Mac OS X
* 128 MB video card (minimum, Mac/Windows)
* 512 MB video card (recommended, Mac/Windows)
Supreme Commander 2 is much the same…
OS: Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7
Processor: 2.6 GHz
Memory: 1GB RAM (XP) 1.5GB RAM (Vista/Windows 7)
Video: 256 MB VRAM DX9 compliant with Pixel Shader 3.0

So as long as the laptop you find meets those requirements, it will play all three of the games you want.

You also didn’t say what your budget was exactly, so finding an example laptop is out of the question. But now, since you know the system requirements, it should make it easier for you to find one.
