New 2010 Macbook Air 11″ and 13″ models announced by Apple
Apple certainly knows how to manage it’s PR. At the highly secretive “back to mac” event on the 20th October 2010, Apple announced updates to the macbook air range. With the runaway success of the iPad over the past year or so, it was a timely reminder from Apple of the great success that it has had in the laptop market, with its macbooks and macbook pros, but also with the macbook air.
The big announcement that has really got mac fans excited is the announcement of a brand new size for the macbook air – 11″. Having been through the rumour mill for the past year or so, Apple have finally announced the arrival of the smaller, more compact and extremely portable laptop. This will be the smallest computer that Apple sell, and is a similar screen size to the iPad.
The ultra light-weight laptops look absolutely stunning, and are a highly desirable product. The macbook airs, come in a range of tech specs, allowing customers to choose between 64 or 128gb versions of the 11″ macbook air, or 128 or 256gb of hard drive space for the 13″ model. The 11″ version has 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and the 13″ has a more powerful 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. All of the macbook airs have 2gb of memory, ensuring performance has not been compromised to minimise the size of these machines.
Online retailers have been quick to announce the launch of accessories to complement the new releases, including apple macbook air 13″ cases and apple macbook air 11″ cases.
