Laptop battery indicator incorrect. Help?
Hi there.
I’m running a HP nc4000 with Windows XP Operating system, and I need to get it back up and running.
The battery works fine without auxiliary power, though when it runs on battery power, the laptop thinks it’s fully charged with 19 hours of battery life remaining. Then after around 20 minutes, it goes into standby saying there’s no power remaining
I’ve tried calibrating the battery using advice guidelines on the HP website, though it hasn’t had any effect – It still does the same thing.
I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can do to resolve this issue?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Many thanks.
It sounds like your battery has passed it’s last leg. You probably need a new battery.
Batteries have cells (usually 6) inside them and as each one dies your have less and less energy remaining.
