Laptop Cusion

my cd drive isnt working please help?

i got my gateway convertible tablet notebook from bestbuy about last year in august and everything was working fine, until about march i let my cusion watch a dvd on it and then when he left and i tried to watch a dvd on it it didnt work, this is what would happen you put the cd in then you close it and youll hear it spinning but then it woud just stop and nothing will come up, i called my cousin and he said it was working when he used it and he doesnt know whats wrong, so i just figured i really dont use the cd drive that much anyway so why bother, but it wasnt till now when i reslised i do need it not just for entertainment but for school wise and just to have my laptop running at its best, my mom said she would take it to the shop but before we do that i wanna know is their someone who can help me please
yes ive tried other cds ive tried games everything, and no it does not show up under my computer
its a convertible tablet so i do carry it around a lot

If you carry your laptop around a lot, the laser might have been shook up and needs re-calibrated. Mine did that. I would bring it to the shop and get it fixed. It is only a minor problem.
