Laptop Heat Shield

Help!! My Laptop cannot be used as a Laptop because it gets too hot.?

I have a Packard bell laptop, after I have been using it for a short time it heats up and I can no longer bear to have it on my lap, I feel that this defeats the whole objective of owning and using a laptop. Does anybody know of any product that would shield my sensitive thighs, or is there a fault with the laptop? it seems to work OK.

Laptops generally create a lot of heat, especially when there’s a lot going on. My laptop is bearable until I start playing games that utilise the Nvidia 7900GS graphics card. Then it’s toasting time!!!!! Always make sure you have sufficient airation around the base of your laptop. Personally, I use a straw tablemat which a) keeps my legs from burning and b) keeps cool air flowing into the laptop.
Signs to look out for are the cooling fan starting up all the time. If this happens, then things are getting too hot!!!
