Macbook Pro with Speck See-Thru Case in backpack?

I was wondering, if I have a hard shell case on my macbook pro, is it safe to just put in my backpack along with other random things? Or should I put it in a specially designed messenger bag with a padded laptop sleeve?

I would consider it safe, I mean, that’s the point of a hard case right??
If possible, though, the specially designed one never can hurt. If it doesn’t really make a difference, just go the safer route.
